Lin Whitfield has extensive experience of governance: she has worked as a Trustee and Company Director in a number of organisations, and she has been Vice-Chair of Governors in a large FE College. She is currently a Trustee of a sub-regional grant-making charity.
Lin provides a range of governance support to voluntary organisations of all sizes: she tailors her approach to each individual client, and works as effectively with small local committees as she does with Boards of Trustees and Chief Executives of well-established charities and social enterprises. Her approach is firmly rooted within the framework of charity law and good practice.
"Over the last three years, Lin has designed and delivered two key training courses for Communities First Partnerships across Wales: 'Good Practice and Your Partnership', which focuses on good governance, and 'Planning for the Future', which supports Partnership Boards to think and plan strategically. Feedback is always excellent, whether the courses have been open to a range of Partnerships or tailored to one specifically. Lin is knowledgeable and professional - she seems to be able to answer just about any question participants throw at her! - but also flexible and easy to work with, which is vital when working with groups of local residents."

The support Lin provides includes:
"I wanted to say just how much this training has helped boost my confidence. I still need to figure out more of the legal side of things but through the training I've come to realise I know more about the practicalities of Board meetings than I thought and actually have a lot to contribute. I'm now looking forward to our next Board meeting and being able to participate with confidence."
